RIMS Scholastic (Digital) Art Award Winners


Seven Di students have been recognized by the California Region of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Students were judged by a panel of artists, art educators, and art professionals to be selected as some of the best work from around California for the 2011 contest year. Di students' work will be exhibited with other regional artists at the San Bernardino County Museum's Finch Gallery.

DATA Shines Silver and Gold



On February 5th, eighteen DATA students competed in their first SkillsUSA regional event at Riverside City College. Students were required to assemble a written portfolio, take a skills test, prepare professional products based on specific criteria, and present themselves and their work to industry professionals for feedback.

2011 Earth Through a Lens Student Winner!


Congratulations to DATA Di junior Reymundo Hernandez for winning 1st Place- High School Division in the 2011 Earth Through a Lens photography competition! The contest challenged students to explore their environment to capture images focusing on a sustainable planet.

Reymundo will be honored in April at the Hyatt Hotel in Palm Springs, receive a new camera donated by Camera West, and have his work shown among professionals from across the country at the Rancho Mirage Public Library and the California Museum of Photography.



"My image was shot from a plane while flying over New Mexico. I was trying to capture the beauty of the natural formation of the clouds and how the scene looked almost angelic."
