Sixteen DATA digital imaging students were selected to show in the My Community in Black and White photography contest sponsored by The Cathedral City Public Arts Commission, Palm Springs Unified School District, and the City of Cathedral City.Students from all nine of the Cathedral City schools were challenged to represent life in their community through black and white imagery. The 50 primary and secondary student finalists will be awarded on March 20th as part of the Live Arts! event in the Cathedral City town square. The event will also be exhibited during the month of April at the College of the Desert library.
"I was intrigued by the freshness that both the beginning and advanced photography students from CCHS brought to the project. It didn't occur to me that people would take such a central role as subjects in the contest, but after viewing the work, I understand, and I was moved by the images."

ReplyDeleteI thought I submitted a really good picture of Cathedral City and how I see it but it wasn't selected. Everyone else's came out great though and good for them doing so well.
