Spring Reviewed

Visit to Landau Elementary School
On May 29th DATA teacher Matt Cauthron and graduating students Leah Oakes and Jessica Smith were invited to speak to fifth grade students at Landau Elementary.  The presentation focused on student work from the Digital Imaging program and the importance of doing well in middle school.  Student speakers were given the opportunity to share their work and experiences in DATA as well as exercise their public speaking skills.

State Superintendent Jack O'Connel Visits DATA
On May 28th, 2009, State Superintendent of Public Education for California, Jack O' Connell, visited The Digital Arts Technology Academy and CCHS as part of a digital textbook initiative.  Superintendent O' Connell toured classrooms, met teachers, and spoke to local media while on campus.

Digital Imaging students, Gardenia Ramirez (12th grade) and Katie England (11th grade) sold their first works of art to private collectors immediately following the FACAS exhibition at the Palm Springs Art Museum.  Katie, whose image, Project: Peace, was purchased by a Washington state resident for the amount of $75.00.  Gardenia's piece, Lost in the Desert, was purchased for $200.00 by
a Los Angles photography collector as #1 in a limited edition of 25.

Spring Trip to Balboa Island
